It's Bath Time! | Top Baby Products for Bath Time

Bathing is Fun, yet Essential

Bathing your little newborn can be so fun. It's that special time at the end of the day when you get to bond with your baby while scrubbing them squeaky clean. You wash their little bodies with gentle soaps, play with them in the tub, and then dry them off and lather them up with baby lotion when you're all finished. In order to help this special time with your little one run smoothly, I compiled a list of bath time must haves below. Please feel free to leave comments or suggestions about products that you all use with your babies below. I'd love to hear what you all have to say so don’t be afraid to share as well!

Fisher-Price 4-in-1 Sling 'n Seat Tub | $37.99

The Fisher-Price 4-in-1 tub is my personal favorite bathtub for infants. I received this as a gift from my Amazon registry. It's really amazing, because as your infant grows, the tub transforms to fit your baby's needs. In the beginning, you can use the sling as a cradle to safely bathe your newborn. Eventually as your baby can sit up with minor assistance, you remove the sling and have them sit in a supported seat. The tub also has a soft headrest, and the seat also works as a stopper to prevent your baby from sliding in the tub. Once the baby is a toddler, you can remove the seat and just use the tub as is. It comes with a hanger, so it's easy to dry and store. The squeeze bottle and whale toy help rinse your baby off. My son adores playing with the toys and enjoys playing in the water. Again, I recommend this product, because it's great for each stage of infancy and its fun and playful.

Baby Dove Tip to Toe Baby Wash - Sensitive Moisture | $7.99

Baby's have delicate skin, so the soap you use on your baby should not contain any harsh ingredients or fragrances. I use Dove Tip to Toe Baby Wash Sensitive Moisture because it's hypoallergenic, ph-neutral, and fragrance-free. This product is super soft and extremely moisturizing, and it works wonders for my son's sensitive, eczema prone skin. This is a great investment for children and adults. I also suffer from eczema, and I use this soap from time to time when I'm in the shower. Plus, it is so easy to use, because it has a pump applicator.

Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo | $7.92

I use Johnson's CottonTouch Baby Wash and Shampoo to clean his scalp and hair. It's about 27 fluid ounces in the bottle. Truthfully, I use this product solely, because it was gifted to him. It's probably not the best shampoo for my son's hair texture, but it is reliable, and it smells amazing. The product claims to be free of parabens, dyes, and sulfates. It is also hypoallergenic and tear free. It overall works pretty well as a baby shampoo. I'd use any shampoo from the Baby Johnson & Johnson line; across the board, they seem to do the job well at cleaning babies.

The Honest Company Everyday Gentle Sweet Orange Vanilla Conditioner | $8.99

This baby conditioner is amazing. It is extremely moisturizing and helps bring life back to my son's curls. The product is free of parabens, silicones, and, dyes. It is one of the safest and healthiest baby conditioners on the market. For $9 you get 10 fluid ounces, and it lasts for a very long time. All you need is one pump of the applicator, and it should be enough for your baby's entire head of hair. The smell of the conditioner isn't too overbearing, which shocked me since orange is usually a very pungent aroma. The formula includes so many great natural ingredients like essential oils, jojoba protein, and citrus extract. The only downfall is that this conditioner leaves a residue in the tub that causes a ring. It's inconvenient, however, not too bad in the grand scheme of things. Please do your child a favor, and buy this product, especially if you are trying to maintain a thick curly mane of hair.

Once you are all done bathing your baby, make sure to use a hooded towel to dry them off and then a good product to moisturize their skin. I suggest Solimo Baby Oil w/ Aloe Vera & Vitamin E or Almond oil. These two oils are my favorites to use after bath time, in addition to old reliable, Vaseline. It really helps prevent use oil and Vaseline liberally in the diaper area after bath time to prevent unwanted diaper rash.

Thank you so much for reading this blog.

Take good care,

A Loving Momma
